[ARCHIVED] Free Summer Concert Series Finale

Summer Concert Series - News Flash

COQUITLAM, B.C., Aug. 30 2022 – Coquitlam’s Summer Concert Series wraps up Friday, Sept. 2 from 6 – 9 p.m., with the Pop Night finale.

The free series, presented by Coquitlam Centre, returned to the TD Community Plaza on July 15 with Rock Night and Aug. 5 with Jazz Night. The Pop Night finale on Sept. 2 is supported by our Genre Partner FortisBC and features performances from:

  • Ashley Pater, 6 – 7 p.m.

Vancouver based R&B singer/songwriter Ashley Pater touches the hearts of her listeners through her music. Ashley’s award-winning songwriting, combined with her soulful sultry voice, draws you into her story.
  • Queer As Funk, 7:45 – 9 p.m.

Vancouver’s Queer as Funk is renowned for its tight rhythm section, hot horns, and soulful vocals. Totally unique in the history of Vancouver's LGBTQ community, Queer as Funk brings together the city's hottest musicians in a dynamic, high-energy dance band, with repertoire ranging from beloved funk, soul and Motown classics, to contemporary pop favourites.

Make it an evening by packing a picnic, or enjoying tasty eats from Shameless Buns and BeaverTails food trucks, as well as the Rocky Point Ice Cream concession. Adults can also now bring their own alcohol and drink responsibly in all Coquitlam parks, including Town Centre Park, from dawn to dusk. The concert will run rain or shine and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit on.

Get reminders and let others know you’re interested in this event by RSVPing to our Facebook event.
