COQUITLAM, B.C., Nov. 16, 2021 – Coquitlam is looking for community members, schools, organizations and businesses who want to help the City prepare the winter lights display for Lights at Lafarge.

The popular winter light display is planned to run from Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 to Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 at Town Centre Park. Volunteers are invited to join the Park Spark team’s Light Brigade where they can help out in a number of different ways:

  • Create pop-bottle tulip lights
  • Fabricate lit elements
  • Install special displays around Lafarge Lake
  • Take part in light-making workshops

Light-making Workshops

Connect with the Park Spark team to take part in light-making workshops to help create a pop-bottle tulip light or lit elements that will be added to this year’s display. Workshops will take place throughout November. Light installations will take place until Nov. 26. Email parkspark@coquitlam.ca to register.

Get Involved in Your Community – Park Hosts Wanted

The Park Spark team is also recruiting volunteers to act as Park Hosts once the Lights at Lafarge are turned on for the season. Park Host volunteers will help direct visitors around the lake, answer questions about the display and facilitate Park Spark pop-up activities throughout December and January.
