March 8, 2024
Welcome March!
Springtime means more sunlight hours and warmer temperatures, we see nature come alive again. The first of the daffodils are blooming, trees are budding and it is so energizing to see the many signs that spring is here.
Today, March 8 is International Women’s day and both Pavilions have scheduled special programs to celebrate the theme for 2024 - Inspire Inclusion. This morning at 10 a.m. there is a presentation on how to build and support each other at Dogwood and a movie entitled Hidden Figures at Glen Pine. Both are free with space to drop in!
“When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.”

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT DOGWOOD
There is an artist in all of us and the opportunity to try a new art medium is always exciting when there are classes teaching us how to use tools such as charcoal and pastels, digital art using Procreate®, or drawing figures with just a black pencil. Dogwood has many instructors who are thrilled to have you join them weekly to create your own pieces of art.
See the full list of Visual Arts programs here.
Coming this April we invite you to try a Ballet Beginner dance class or how about Cha-Cha or Foxtrot? Dance is a wonderful activity for everyone who enjoys the movement to music at your own pace and is known to be good for the brain especially with line dance when you have to learn how to count and rotate. We challenge you to upbeat Hip Hop so you can be proud of being with the times!

Most exciting are all the intergenerational opportunities during Spring Break for adults and the special younger people in their lives to cook, paint or enjoy a movie together. See the full listing in the Special Events section below.
