COQUITLAM, B.C., August 2, 2023 – Get ready for fabulous food truck fare and foot-stomping fun as The Promised take the stage in Town Centre Park on Friday, August 4, as part of Coquitlam’s free Summer Concert Series.
The Promised – A Harmonious Fusion of Roots, Country and Rockabilly
The Promised will heat up the Community Plaza stage in Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park from 7 – 9 p.m. with two 45-minute sets showcasing their harmonious fusion of roots, country and rockabilly, a sound that has won them critical acclaim and captivated audiences.
Following the release of their first single “We Could Be in Love” in 2019 The Promised has been featured in TV shows and nominated for three BC Country Music Association awards. Their tight harmonies and a powerful sound will draw you into the stories of their songs, making them a must-see act for music lovers of all tastes, including those new to country music.

As of 6 p.m., there will be four amazing food vendors onsite serving up delicious treats that go perfectly with the sounds of summer:
- Roasted Revolution: From butter roasted corn on the cob, to chili and cheese baked potato, there is something for everyone at this fan-favourite food truck.
- Rocky Point Ice Cream: Since opening a tiny summer ice cream shop kiosk in 1997 to now having three locations and their small batch ice cream sold across the lower mainland, enjoy a classic summer treat while taking in the cool sounds of summer.
- Shameless Buns: Get shameless with Vancouver’s funkiest Filipino inspired food brand as it continues its huge success of showcasing flavours in creative and delicious ways.
- BAK’D Cookies: Check out these large, gooey, delicious gourmet cookies made with high-quality ingredients and ever-improving techniques that some have called the best cookie in Vancouver.
Getting to the Concert Car-Free
Consider going car-free by walking, biking or carpooling. Town Centre Park is also easily accessed by public transit, including SkyTrain to Lafarge Lake-Douglas Station or one of the many bus stops around the park.

Save the Date – 2023 Summer Concert Series Wraps up on September 1
This year’s Summer Concert Series of powerhouse performers will wrap up on Friday, September 1 on a bold note with two-time Western Canadian Music Award winner Krystle Dos Santos. Food vendors for the final concert will be: Gary’s Kettle Corn, Japadog, Gordo’s Concessions and Rocky Point Ice Cream.
