Local government is the most accessible and responsive level of government, led by City Council, a governing body made up of local citizens elected by the community. City services are guided by provincial legislation and the City’s Strategic Plan; outcomes are publicly reported in an Annual Report.
Comprised of the Mayor and eight Councillors, Coquitlam City Council is responsible for local government leadership and decision-making in the City of Coquitlam.
