[ARCHIVED] Go Green and Opt Out of the Paper Collection Calendar

Opt out of the paper curbside collection calendar and, instead, download the Coquitlam Curbside Collection app.

COQUITLAM, B.C., March 21, 2025 – Coquitlam residents who receive curbside waste collection from the City can opt out of the paper collection calendar mailed to them each June and, instead, go green by downloading the Coquitlam Curbside Collection app.

Opt Out of a Paper Collection Calendar

The City continues to offer residents an environmentally friendly option to receive curbside collection information from the free Coquitlam Curbside Collection app. Residents can complete an opt-out form from now until Thursday, April 17, 2025 to stop receiving the printed calendar.

Download the Curbside Collection App

To replace the printed collection calendar, the Coquitlam Curbside Collection app is available to download on Apple or Android smartphones and residents can also sign up for weekly reminders at coquitlam.ca/SeparateYourWaste

Services available in the app:

  • Print a personalized collection schedule
  • Set up email or phone call reminders for your collection day, which is particularly handy when collection day shifts following statutory holidays or due to a service disruption
  • Reminders are sent for upcoming events such as seasonal unlimited yard trimmings collection, City-Wide Garage Sale and Giveaway, Repair Cafés and more
  • Use the Waste Wizard search tool to find out where to donate, recycle or dispose of your items, including free and local recycling drop-off options
  • Get details about Garbage and Green Cart collection including set-out and separation guidelines
  • Find helpful contact information and answers to frequently asked questions

Help Coquitlam work towards our long-term goals of minimizing waste generation and maximizing recycling and reuse – download the free Coquitlam Curbside Collection app on Android and Apple devices (you can also search “Coquitlam Curbside Collection” in the app store on your phone).

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish Up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
