Coquitlam property owners have one more week to pay property taxes and avoid penalty before the July 2 deadline.

COQUITLAM, B.C., June 23, 2025 – Coquitlam property owners have one more week to pay property taxes and avoid penalty before the July 2 deadline.

Late payments are subject to a five per cent penalty, with a further five per cent penalty added after September 15 (including unclaimed Home Owner Grants).

If you have not received your property tax notice, email PropertyTax@coquitlam.ca immediately.

Ways to Pay Your Property Taxes

  • At your bank in person or online using the 8-digit folio/roll number from your tax notice.
  • By credit card online using both the 8-digit folio/roll number and the access code from your tax notice. Credit card payments are subject to a two per cent processing fee.
  • By cheque via the secure drop boxes at City Hall (3000 Guildford Way) and Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.). Cheques can be post-dated up to the due date (do not deposit cash).
  • In-person at City Hall by cash, cheque, credit or debit card. Open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (closed Tuesday, July 1).

Cheque payment by mail is also accepted; however, there may be disruptions to mail service due to ongoing Canada Post labour discussions. Mail lost or delayed will be subject to penalty.

We acknowledge with gratitude and respect that the name Coquitlam was derived from the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (HUN-kuh-MEE-num) word kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (kwee-KWET-lum) meaning “Red Fish up the River”. The City is honoured to be located on the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm traditional and ancestral lands, including those parts that were historically shared with the q̓ic̓əy̓ (kat-zee), and other Coast Salish Peoples.
