City crews will be completing flood prevention utility work along Lougheed Highway, between Dewdney Trunk Road and the Coquitlam Bus Loop. Work is scheduled to start on October 29 and 30 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Traffic will be affected.

What: Flood Prevention Utility Work 

Where: Lougheed Highway CPR Overpass, located between Dewdney Trunk Road and the Coquitlam Bus Loop  (Location Map)

When: Wednesday, October 29 and Thursday, October 30, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (weather dependent).

Traffic Impacts: During active construction, the southbound and northbound slow lanes will be impacted. Please plan an alternate route to avoid delays or plan extra time when using this route.

Travel with caution through construction zones, watch for work crews and equipment, and obey all traffic personnel and signs, including construction speed limits. Thank you for your patience.

BC Hydro crews will be completing work along Pipeline Road between Guildford Way and David Avenue. Work is expected to take place starting Mon, Oct 20 until Sat, Nov 1. Crews will be work weekdays, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

What: BC Hydro Utility Work

Where: Pipeline Road between Guildford Way and David Avenue (Location Map)

When: October 20, 2025 to November 1, 2025 (weather permitting). Work will take place daily, including weekends. Crews will work weekdays between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and weekends between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Traffic Impacts: During construction, single lane alternating traffic will be in place.  Additionally, BC Hydro has scheduled a planned power outage for Saturday, November 1 (8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.). Please plan an alternate route or plan extra time when using this route.

The City's contractor will be completing overnight road repairs along Runnel Dr from Falcon Dr to Lansdowne Dr. Work is expected to take place between Oct 9 to 14, and will take 2 days to complete. Work will take place overnight between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.

What: Road Repairs

Where: Runnel Drive from Falcon Drive to Lansdowne Drive (Location Map)

When: Work is scheduled to take place the week of October 27 (weather permitting), and will take two days to complete. Due to the location of the work and overall safety, work will take place during nighttime hours. Work will take place Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Traffic Impacts: During construction, traffic will be limited to single-lane alternating. Please plan an alternate route to avoid delays or plan extra time when using this route. Street parking will be impacted throughout construction. Businesses in the area will remain open and pedestrian access will be maintained.

As part of the City's Pipeline Road Upgrade project, work continues along Pipeline Road between Guildford Way and Gabriola Drive. Please plan extra time when using this route or plan an alternate route to avoid delays.

 What: Pipeline Road Upgrades - Construction Update

Where: Pipeline Road from Guildford Way to Gabriola Drive

When: Ongoing to December 2025. Work will take place weekdays between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Traffic Impacts: At times, single lane alternating traffic will be in place, with possible turn restrictions at intersections. Pedestrian access will be maintained but there will be occasional detours. Please plan extra time when using this route or plan an alternate route to avoid delays.

The City's contractor will be completing underground work on Lincoln Ave, west of Pipeline Rd starting the week of Sept 8 for approximately three months. Crews will work Mon to Fri, 7 am to 7 pm., with potential Sat work. Traffic flow will be impacted.

What:  Water Main Work (Pressure Reducing Valve Upgrades)

Where: Lincoln Avenue, west of Pipeline Road  (Location Map)

When: Construction is scheduled to begin the week of September 8 and will take approximately three months to complete (weather dependent). Majority of the work will take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with potential Saturday work. There will be occasional night time work throughout the duration of the project. 

Traffic Impacts: During active construction, traffic will be limited to single lane so there will be occasional delays.  Please plan extra time when using this route or plan alternate route.

Robson Drive west of Pipeline Road to east of Kenney Street will be closed from October 15 until mid November, as Metro Vancouver completes work at the intersection of Pipeline Road and Robson Drive. Please plan an alternate route.

What: Metro Vancouver Coquitlam Water Main - Construction of Valve Chambers  

Where: Intersection of Pipeline Road and Robson Drive (Location Map)

When: Construction is expected to begin October 15 and will be ongoing until mid November

Traffic Impacts:  Robson Drive will be closed at west side of Pipeline Road (between Pipeline Road to east of Kenney Street) and traffic will be detoured.  Please plan an alternate route.

Travel with caution through construction zones, watch for work crews and equipment, and obey all traffic personnel and signs, including construction speed limits. Thank you for your patience as Metro Vancouver's contractor completes this necessary work.
