Mariner Park Tennis Court Replacement Project

Improvements to the Mariner Park tennis courts are were completed in the fall of 2023.  The work will included removal of the existing courts, followed by the installation of upgraded drainage, new tennis/pickleball courts and chain link fencing. Due to weather restrictions, the final colour coating on the courts will be completed in the spring of 2024.

Bramble Park Court Conversion Project

In order to provide much needed access to the rapidly growing sport of pickleball, the City has converted existing tennis courts located at Bramble Park (2775 Panorama Dr.) into eight permanent pickleball courts. Upgrades to the courts include:

  • new LED lighting fixtures
  • recoating the playing surfaces
  • new line markings

The renovations are now complete (July 15, 2022) and are ready for play. Users are reminded that courts are shared and play is limited to 30-minutes maximum per group per court.

Tennis and Pickleball Services & Facilities Strategy 2017 to 2037

In May 2016, the City began developing a Tennis and Pickleball Services and Facilities Strategy to assist in identifying an appropriate level of service and model for delivering these services to the community over the next 15 to 20 years, as well as a framework to ensure the appropriate level of capital investment for new courts and maintenance of existing assets. The development of this strategy included consultation with local tennis and pickleball clubs, other relevant stakeholders and information gathered from a public survey.

The Tennis and Pickleball Services and Facilities Strategy was approved by Council on October 16, 2017.
