Special Events Volunteer Opportunities
The City of Coquitlam hosts a variety of special events and celebrations throughout the year. One of the largest is the annual Canada Day Celebration. Volunteers assist with the set-up and take-down of exhibits and assist with entertainment, food and clean-up.
Logistics Volunteers fill a key role in all events. Volunteers assist with set up and take down of equipment that include tables, chairs and signage before, during and after the event. They also provide support with various tasks that make for a successful event that is enjoyable to the public.
Provide assistance to event goers by giving directions and other event related information. Event Ambassadors also hand out information about the City of Coquitlam and help encourage event goers to participate in activities during the event.
Activity Attendants provides assistance to people participating in activities during an event. Duties also include crowd and line control. They ensure that line ups for activities are controlled and are not overflowing into walking paths.
Helps ensures that hospitality areas remain clean and well stocked. During the Canada Day celebration, Hospitality hosts assist in the entertainers’ green rooms as well as the dining tents.
