Culture Days in Coquitlam 

BC Culture Days in Coquitlam was a captivating arts and culture experience at Town Centre Park on September 23. The free event featured local Indigenous artists, performers and businesses. 

Hosted by a multi-talented First Nation artist

Beyond his artistic talents of playing the flute and wood carving, Arnie Leon  is a captivating public speaker with a profound dedication to his community.

Vibrant performance and engaging workshop 

 Wild Moccasin Dancers 
An intertribal dance collective that expresses their gifts through songs, dances and storytelling.

 2 Métis Women Interactive Workshop
Presenting the ancient skill of finger weaving. Participants learned how to finger weave using the Métis technique but also the importance of intertwining traditional culture with modern day.

Local Businesses 

Hot and cold treats were available from Stephen's Coffee and Rocky Point Ice Cream.

       Join artists and collaborators Sandeep Johal and Sara Khan for a two-session workshop for youth ages 13 – 18 years. Registration required. Materials and snacks provided. Free.

Culture Days

Culture Days takes place across Canada over three weeks every year in the fall. It is a network of events, presentations, activities, workshops, and more that showcase, share, and explore the culture of participating communities.

Through thousands of free events across the country, Culture Days promotes inclusivity, awareness, participation, and engagement in arts and culture for all.
